Mike Katz
Mike Katz is a superb bagpiper and multi-instrumentalist who joined Battlefield Band in late 1997 and has contributed massively to the music and accessibility of the legendary group. Originally from LA, Mike started learning the pipes young, and learned and played in the same pipe band as another Battlefield Band alumni; Eric Rigler. He attended Edinburgh University aged 18 and has lived in Scotland ever since, playing in various bands and combinations, including Scottish Gas Pipe Band, and Ceolbeg, before joining Battlefield Band.
Elias Alexander
Raised in Ashland, Oregon, Elias Alexander is a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in Scottish traditional music, studying bagpipes, fiddle, whistle, and guitar from a young age. He has made a name for himself as one of America’s finest exponents of traditional Scottish music.
He spent the later half of the 10s touring with numerous bands, including the Bywater Band, Soulsha, Seven Nations, MAC and Fàrsan, and has worked with many of the greats of Celtic music, including Alasdair Fraser, Carlos Nuñez, Alasdair White and Gillebrìde MacMillan.
