Celtic Connections 2010

Old Blind Dogs will appear at 2010's Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow next January. oldblinddogs.co.uk finds out more about the concert and also looks at other concerts during the festival that feature the members of Old Blind Dogs...

Old Blind Dogs, billed as, "Veteran vocal/instrumental globe-trotters...", will appear as part of the festivals Showcase Scotland 2010 programme. Other acts at the concert include Scottish piper Fred Morrison, all-female sextet The Shee and acclaimed singer Alyth McCormack. The concert will take place at the O2 ABC in Glasgow at 7.30pm on Thursday 28th January 2010.

Old Blind Dog Aaron Jones with perform at the festival as part of The Robert Tannahill Bicentenary Concert on Friday 15th January 2010 at 8.00pm in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall's Strathclyde Suite, and is an offical accompanist at the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Final 2010 on Sunday 31st January 2010 at 5.00pm in the Grand Hall of Glasgow's City Halls. He will also be performing in Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket with his new project 2Duos as the opening act for Frankie Gavin and The New De Dannan on Tuesday 19th January at 8.00pm.

Jonny Hardie will perform with The Chieftains and Ry Cooder at the Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday 26th January. Also guesting with the Chieftains is Alyth McCormack. Jonny will also be playing with Alyth and her band at the O2 ABC Showcase Scotland concert where OBDs are also performing.

The band's Fraser Stone and Ali Hutton will appear with their thrilling new band The Treacherous Orchestra. They'll be supported by Rupa & The April Fishes for their concert at 9.00pm on Saturday 23rd January 2010 at the city's Old Fruitmarket.
